 Fire Department Overview
The Township is served by a volunteer fire chief and 42 firefighters. The Department operates from one station located at 2568 Darlington Road, which now includes the recreation hall and Fire Department Offices. The Department will respond to approximately 600 calls this year since the addition of the Quick Response Medical Service (QRS). The department is averaging 20 fire and rescue calls per month and 30 emergency medical calls per month.  The fire department is blessed with some of the following specialized positions (3) PA State certified Fire Instructors, (2) Certified PA State Rescue Instructors, (1) Paramedic, (12) Emergency Medical Technicians, (4) First Responders, and (1) Haz Mat Technician.  In addition to training and fund raising activities they also provide safety education classes to the schools and day care centers.

The Fire Department currently has 7 pieces of fire fighting apparatus. The newest vehicle is a 1998 55 foot TeleBoom that pumps out a plentiful 2,000 gallons of water per minute. The Department also gives aid and receives mutual aid from some of the following areas South Beaver Township, Big Beaver Borough, Darlington Township, and Patterson Twp.
